HAPPY 2010 EVERYONE!
It's 1 January 2010 and I really can't believe that 2009 is gone! I guess I have to get used to writing the year of the date and change from '09' to '10'. Anyway I went to countdown with brothers and sisters yesterday. And it's was only yesterday that our sisters announced that we are officially brothers and sisters. Confusing? Lols.
We met at Bugis station and went to find a steamboat shop around the Bugis area. There were sure lots of steamboat shops but all of them were full! In the end we settled down at a steamboat shop(I forgot the name). Well I guess the hygiene standard of this shop needs to be improved further. I should have taken pictures of how unhygienic this shop was. But who cares, I just eat anything edible that was able to fill our stomachs.
Wenya opened our(Adriel, Nixon, and I) present, which was a big box containing fake bugs like moth, giant beetle and dragonfly. Beneath the heap of fragrant dried plants was her bright orange shades. When she opened the lid, she was very wary of the things that she would be seeing, but unfortunately in the end she still got shocked by the moth which was hung onto the lid using bluetack and nylon string.

Initially it was very hard to take my share from the steamboat pot because it's like at the other end of the table, but after that I was used to it. We had many many things. The food that were taken most were enoki mushrooms, raw chicken and egg. A lot of us love enoki mushroom A LOT. Everytime I go refill the enoki mushroom in the plate, I would make sure I empty the whole container LOL. Okay that's a little exaggerating but you know how much we love it haha.
Barbecuing raw chicken with chicken egg was our very own invention and I'm proud to say that it's really delicious. At the same time, it's really high in protein :D Wenya sure had fun mixing the cooked chicken and egg together which made them look quite, inedible and not very appetizing to me HAHA. It's true. And some parts of the chicken weren't really cooked.
Whenever there was noodles in the steamboat, the first person who would be reminded of was Adriel. Cheryl and Wenya always filled Adriel's bowl with lots of noodles(whether uncooked or soggy). Wenya simply enjoyed showing off her pro-ness in decorating the bowl of noodles. Somehow she ended up decorating mine, and this was the result:
Who knew what's going on in her mind then LOL. It's quite sick, but I gave Nixon my 'balls' because I don't eat meatballs and he loved meatballs. Instead, Nixon donated my 'balls' to Fion since she had none HAHA.
We camped at the shop till it was around 10pm(we started eating like around 8pm). A lot of funny stuff happened like the egg game thing because Huixin's egg contracted after it cracked. Fion and Nixon were always zi-highing between themselves haha.
We then went to the open space outside opposite Esplanade and there were many many people in the Citylink area. That was the first time that I saw so many people there. Anyway we settled down at the open area there and waited for the the countdown or fireworks.
Unfortunately, the fireworks came BOOMZ BOOMZ BOOMZ without countdown so everyone was like rushing out to the side of the road to get a better sight of the fireworks display. The starting wasn't very nice but the finall shots were damn marvellous. But Fion fell down and got injured because she slipped on the foamy stuff(I think) that the crazy people sprayed when the fireworks BOOMZ-ed. On the other hand, Yujun became Frosty the Snowman LOLS because the back of his head and body was full of foam, not really full but there were quite a lot of it. Well Fion might be lucky for the rest of the year after this fall on the first hour of the first day of 2010. Hey I'm not being sadistic here okay, but it might be true, who knows haha.
After that we had really nothing to do so we just like gathered around in a circle and put our hands on one another's shoulders. The next thing I knew was that we were already going in rounds and shouting something weird. It did not succeed anyway.
The next thing was shouting HAPPY NEW YEAR but it failed too. It's because not everyone was shouting and Nixon shouted HAPPY 2010 instead ROFL.
Next up was a human barrier which sort of succeeded and we were really really crazy. We formed two rows and then we slowly proceeded across the wide path just to see who would bang into us and see who would be pissed off by our actions. It turned out to be funny. Adriel didn't even want to join us la!
Adriel also didn't join us in our next activity which was a human choo-choo train. We lined up and put our hands on the shoulders of the person in front. Adriel was at the last but he didn't put his hands on Zhengyang's shoulder, what a spoilsport. People were looking and laughing at us. I think it was quite all right since everyone was in a festive mood and very high. We choo-ed our way from Esplanade all the way back to outside Citylink haha.
There were really lots and lots of people walking in the same direction in Citylink and it was damn stuffy. We had a hard time walking to Cityhall station and Nixon was molested in the butt ROFL. So you can see how squeezy it was at that moment. We were really relieved to be able to squeeze into the train. We camped at Tiong Bahru station and we played 终极密码 with Truth or Dare. Yujun was dared to enter the train and shout HAPPY NEW YEAR and come out. In the end he just went into the train. And took another train back to Tiong Bahru with a super cool hairstyle. After that we took pictures, and got shoo-ed by the security guard LOL.
We played a little at the neighbourhood playground before heading to Huixin's house. When we were at the doorstep, we were greeted by Cody the cute dog. He's damn happy to see us and he was wagging his tail so hard as if it's going to fly off any moment LOL. We played a little with Cody before playing other stuff. I slept in Huixin's room because there's aircon hehe. And Nixon was really mad about being cosy because he brought in so many cushions and the covertible sofa that we were sleeping on was filled with pillows haha.
I merely slept like maybe 20mins to half an hour. Because people kept entering the room and it sort of bothered me so I wasn't able to sleep well. When I finally decided to wake up, I was feeling drowsy and sleepy. But the Saboteur game really waked me up because it involves thinking. It's really fun haha.
After waiting for the OG girl to finish wearing her stuff and whatever, we finally went to Tiong Bahru Plaza for breakfast at Macs. WOOHOO I had my first hotcakes in like 5 years or more and it was really delicious :D I was only afraid of the fats that I consumed because I had a packet of butter for each hotcake, damn fattening, but it's nice hehe.
